Jet is 80 million years old hard compressed wood and is black as coal

Most people know that there is amber by the Danish coasts.

In contrast only few people know that there is jet at our beaches.

The jet we find on the beach comes from the coast of England where

there are large natural deposits of jet.

What is jet - jet is 80 million years old hard compressed wood and is black as coal,

it has a deep shiny silky blank surface which is very similar to amber polished surface

(a very unromantic coal stone), but with its 98 % of carbon only 2% of carbon from being

a diamond - and therefore still a precious stone, very suitable for use with amber and sterling silver.
Jet was in the last century beloved and a widely used gemstones - especially used for beads/bead chains.

But then came the black onyx came on the market - and the jet were forgotten by most.

Health benefits:
It’s says that jet has different positive health effects. It will affect the first Chakre and be good for gout,

arthritis, respiratory problems, hay fever, headache and bad tonsils.
